It has been said that, "to err is human; to forgive, divine."  It is a nice pithy statement, but I am not sure what to do with it.  The Bible, on the other hand, teaches us much more about forgiveness and the importance of doing it.  Your faith, your life, literally hang in the balance.  There is no room for pith here, it's time to practice forgiveness.  May God bless you as you study Jesus' teaching on "forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us."
