Kendra Mathews

Church Life & Communications Coordinator

Kendra serves as the Church Life & Communications Coordinator, assisting with special events and helping the Worship Director and Missions/Communications Director. Though born in San Diego, she spent most of her growing-up years in the beautiful state of Oregon, and only recently moved back to California in December 2007. Oregon will always hold a special place in her heart, though California is still growing on her (slowly). Kendra is a graduate of Corban College, where she studied Music and received a B.S. in English Communications. Having worked in church ministry throughout college, she is excited about the opportunity to continue doing so, and looks forward to getting to know the faces of MPC.

Deeply passionate about music, Kendra loves to write, listen, and sing songs. She also enjoys reading books, running, kayaking, hiking, eating frozen yogurt, and spending quiet time at the beach. Her idea of cooking is using the microwave (God's greatest invention given to mankind), and she thinks the best part about going shopping is buying shoes because they will always fit! She classifies herself as more of an introvert, but willingly concedes that the Lord has a way of stretching her outside of her comfort zone as He grows her into His intended, yet mysterious, plans.

Although unsure of the Lord's direction in her life, Kendra is searching out the opportunities that God places in front of her and is open to whatever direction He leads her in while desiring to please the Lord and to actively live out the words of 2 Peter 1:5-8, "For this reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ."

Stop by the church office if you're in the area to introduce yourself! She might just have a treat or two with your name on it!
